Audika, the Demant-owned chain of hearing centres in Spain, has acquired Audifón, strongly positioning the Danish group’s network on the Iberian peninsula with 123 practices.

Demant’s Audika España buys up Audifón chain to grow its domestic network to 123 hearing centres

Following Audika’s 2020 purchase of 13 Catalonian hearing centres from the firm Cottet, this latest acquistion will see centres running under both Audika and Audifón brand names, positioning the Demant interest well in Spain, strengthening its presence in Madrid, Extremadura, Andalucía, Galicia, Asturias, Valencia, and Castilla y León, Audika sources explained. Audifón’s 47 centres are now added to Audika’s 76 national practices, making a total of 123, all of which “will boast leading worldwide hearing technology, as well as the experience and focus of the organisation’s professionals,” the group underlined.

According to Audika Director General, David Ruiz: “This operation is part of our national plan for growth and expansion within Audika’s positioning strategy in the hearing market. With the exclusive technology we have, and thinking of the benefit this means for hearing health, the wellbeing of patients, and the improvement in their quality of life, we are working to reach more areas and thus help more people to hear better.”

Despite the crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, Audika grew by ten percent in 2020 against the previous year. Now, with these new acquisitions, Audika has doubled its staff, while maintaining all employees from Audifón.
