Battery manufacturer Rayovac is getting behind the hearing loss awareness drive for World Hearing Day - March 3, 2022 - by telling Life Without Limits stories of ordinary people facing auditory challenges.

And the company, which makes a full range of power solutions for hearing aids using conventional batteries, is providing tools on its Rayovac World Hearing Day portal so that audiologists can boost their own awareness efforts.

A narrative approach to awareness

The idea of "real-life hearing heroes" is central to the firm's campaign: Alfie Atkinson and Jake Rowan, two players from the Washington Deaf Football Club in the North East of England; actor Danny Murphy (pictured above); Bethan Lishman, GB hammer thrower; and communications officer, Karen Bell. "This World Hearing Day we’re encouraging more people to get their hearing checked, by highlighting the positive effects that battery powered hearing aids can have," says Rayovac on its international Life Without Limits web page. "We spoke to people in the UK and the USA as part of our Big Hearing Survey in 2021 to find out more about the difference hearing aids have made to their lives," the manufacturer explains.

Tools to boost awareness

A downloadable campaign toolkit for audiologists includes images, videos, social media calendar and press release for their local media has been made available by the manufacturer, along with educational videos and other World Hearing Day-related materials.
