Global hearing giant Amplifon has recruited TV doctor Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE to play an ambassadorial role as its medical advisor, offering advice to customers on hearing loss over the next 12 months.
Aregular on ITV News in the UK for more than 20 years, and resident doctor on Radio 2's Jeremy Vine show, Jarvis is also a practising GP. She has begun her role as the face of Amplifon UK by relating how high-tech hearing aids proved a lifeline for her 96-year-old father during lockdown.
“I’ve spent 30 years trying to help patients to understand that untreated hearing loss can lead to social isolation, anxiety, depression and even to dementia, and I know that, on average, it takes people ten years to seek help, says Dr. Jarvis.
“With the right support, simply by getting their hearing loss treated, people can increase their chance of living a full, successful, independent life," she continued.
Amplifon has a network of approximately 9,000 points of sale in 26 countries. Its UK network numbers 105 hearing centres.
