During Tinnitus Week in February 2025, Tinnitus UK published a new report on the current status of care for this condition in the UK. It was based on a survey of hundreds of audiologists working in the UK. Initial analysis of the data suggests unacceptable delays facing tinnitus patients on ENT waiting lists that can stretch to three years, insufficient training and supervision in relation to tinnitus, and the use of assessment techniques not recommended within NICE guidelines.

Since Alex Brooks-Johnson took over as CEO of Tinnitus UK in September, 2024, efforts to create awareness of the condition and support those who suffer its ravages have taken on a palpable new energy, even if much of the early drive shown by the new leader and his team is going into turning around the group's financial predicament.
