Apple's Hearing Aid feature now available in UK with AirPods Pro 2
It was in September 2024 that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorised the Apple OTC Hearing Aid Feature (HAF), although its arrival in the UK was held off. Now it's on the ground.

From today, Apple's well thrashed-out Hearing Aid feature is now available on AirPods Pro 2 in the United Kingdom as a free software update.
It targets people with mild-to-moderate hearing loss, a population in the UK that - according to one "real-life" analysis, could bring the total of hearing loss affected in the country to 18 million.
Apple's hearing health features first launched in the US and select other countries in late October with the release of iOS 18.1. In December, iOS 18.2 expanded the hearing test feature to France, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, Cyprus, Czechia, and the UK, and both the hearing aid and hearing test features to the United Arab Emirates.
