UK 2024 hearing instrument sales finish 4% up on 2023
Representing hearing aid manufacturers in the UK, the industry body BIHIMA regularly monitors the market and releases the results of its members every quarter. BIHIMA's sums for 2024 include for the first time the total number of instruments sold to independent outlets carrying out NHS contracts, an additional breakdown to the customarily accounted figures for units sold directly NHS audiology services.

The overall numbers released by BIHIMA cover the UK and ROI. The year ended on a promising high, with an increase for Q4 of 11% on public hearing instrument sales (compared to Q3) and a rise of 0.4% for private hearing instruments. However, ROI experienced a 10% drop in their hearing instrument sales over the quarter.
