Specsavers sponsored charity cycle raises more than £43,000 for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
The charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was set up to push for a world free of motor neurone disease, the group's founder Doddie Weir OBE, one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities, having succumbed to the condition after playing 61 times for Scotland's national team. Now, Specsavers has helped another team raise tens of thousands for the charity.

SUPPORTED by Specsavers Dundee, a team of six cyclists completed a gruelling charity cycle from Stranraer to Edinburgh in February to raise funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The Specsavers Opticians and Hearing Centre located on Murraygate donated an initial £10,000 to the team’s efforts ahead of the challenge. But thanks to the team’s fundraising, they raised more than £43,000 for the foundation which helps and supports those living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
