The joint Covid-19 guidance for UK Audiology and Otology professionals has been revised to take into account the changing situation in the pandemic, and the planned January 15 update has now been released.

Covid-19 guidance for UK hearing professionals updated

Formulated and circulated by the four principal UK bodies for audiology workers—the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP), the British Academy of Audiology (BAA), the British Society of Audiology (BSA), and the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA), the latest revision is available for download here.

Amendments have been made in this January 2021 document. The associations urge professionals to re-read the guidance and review the risk assessment of services in consideration of a more virulent strain of Covid-19, stressing that “the vaccine roll out does not remove the need for the strict adherence to Infection Prevention Control, use of PPE and social distancing”.

The jointly prepared document was first released on April 9, 2020. The information will be revised again on May 31, 2021.
