Amplifon's sights fixed on US
The Italian group's CEO maintains that age is no issue when it comes to digital tech
Amplifon’s CEO Enrico Vita has underlined in an Italian media interview that his group prioritises increase of market share in the United States, where in 2020 it created a retail network now standing at 400 stores and 1,200 franchises.
Vita told the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that Amplifon’s street presence means it gets to know the customer better. And the supremo stressed that the “clichés” are wrong about people; they are ready for digital technology and Vita does not see age stopping them.
Amplifon has a sales target of 3 bn euros and wants to reach it as soon as possible, he told Corriere della Sera. Last year was good for Amplifon, which enjoyed record sales of 2.26 bn euros. Q1 2024 brought sales of 573.1 million euros.
The interview with Vita revealed that although he recognises the importance of technology, it is the human factor he regards as “decisive” in guaranteeing quality of service. He also underlined the importance of a expressive young force of employees, one yearning to be heard and keen to work for an outfit with “purpose and impact”.
Vita outlined that over the first four months of 2024, Amplifon has already invested 70 million euros in acquisitions worldwide, its objective being to exceed 100 million euros each year. “And we will do it,” the CEO told Corriere della Sera.
