BAA President, Dr. Samantha Lear, was delighted to support the RNID launch event for their latest report “It does matter”. Please read the RNID report and let’s raise awareness and change attitudes, as “good communication and inclusion for deaf people and people with hearing loss absolutely does matter”. Sam joined the RNID event at the House of Lords which was timed to coincide with Deaf Awareness week. She is pictured here with deaf audiologist, Sara Adedeji.

Masking the ABR webinar

Jason Smalley and Dr. Guy Lightfoot will cover the changes to the masking calculator, practical tips for using the masking calculator, and strategies on how to avoid masking. More details and registration through the events pages of the BAA website.

Soundfield Calibration Checklist

Following discussions, and in collaboration with a large number of calibration providers in the UK, a checklist has been created to allow audiology providers to understand their room set up for soundfield testing. It has been agreed that where the conditions within this checklist are not met, it is unlikely that the soundfield will be able to be calibrated.

Further information on calibration and setting a room up for soundfield testing is in the calibration webinar recording in the knowledge hub of the BAA website members’ area.
