Don’t miss this June British Society of Audiology 2023 Scientific Meeting
The BSA Scientific Meeting brings together clinicians and researchers who have an interest in hearing, tinnitus and balance. The event will take place at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre (BCEC), Birmingham on Monday June 5 and Tuesday June 6, 2023.
A packed first day will bring the following presentations:
Clinical needs and priorities in tinnitus and hyperacusis: the next steps;
OAE and its clinical application;
APD Introduction;
Separating the causes of listening difficulties in children;
Updated recommended procedure for visual reinforcement audiometry: Key changes;
Paediatric vestibular assessment and rehabilitation in audiology: Panel discussion;
Rehabilitation through deep technology: immersive mind-body therapy for chronic neurological disorders.
In annual conference mode, the first day also brings the BSA’s AGM and awards ceremony and, at the end of the day, a networking drinks reception. There is also poster and exhibition viewing.
June 6 brings another full day of enticing opportunities to increase knowledge. Following BSA Chair Donna Corrigan’s welcome, the day proceeds:
Panel Discussion: Hearing aid fittings – an interactive workshop to define what makes best practice. What makes a good hearing aid fitting and where does clinical practice vary?;
Developing a 5 year UK action plan for hearing loss and tinnitus research to improve hearing health;
Foundations of the BCMED SIG and outcomes of the departmental survey / 3 Case studies about BCME devices (3 centres from England, Scotland & Wales);
Clinical considerations and outcome Expectations for the Current Generation of BC and ME Devices;
Development of the BCMED SIG – Why we need BC ME standards;
Dementia Specialist Network;
“I always feel like I’m the first deaf person they have ever met” Deaf awareness, accessibility and communication in the NHS: What could we do better?
