Tinnitus support boosted by telemedicine team-up

From this March, subscribers to the app Oto will be able to schedule an appointment in-app with a clinical specialist in audiology with a few simple clicks. Through the partnership, Treble will offer 1-on-1 specialist care for people living with tinnitus, providing direct access to their teams of leading audiologists.

What is Treble?

Specialist telehealth outfit Treble Health is audiologist-based and provides convenient access to hearing health solutions, offering guidance on hearing devices, as well as tinnitus management coaching and hearing aid consultations using telehealth. Treble Health says that it has completed over 1,500 telehealth consultations for tinnitus and hearing loss patients in the last 12 months.

What is Oto?

Oto is a digital health startup that helps people access evidence-based treatment for overlooked and underserved chronic conditions. The Oto app provides psychological support to anyone with tinnitus through a team of doctors, audiologists, therapists, voice artists, sound engineers and researchers with great experience in helping people with tinnitus, but also with insight from all walks of life.

“We’re really excited to partner with Oto to develop accessible and forward-thinking solutions for tinnitus patients. Oto is hands down the best cognitive therapy app for tinnitus, and we have an opportunity to help individuals manage tinnitus better than ever before,” says Treble Health CEO, Dr. Ben Thompson.

Also lauding the partnership, Oto’s co-founder Dr. Ed Farrar said: “The causes for tinnitus and the way the condition affects people is so varied and as a result even in the clinical community, understanding of how to effectively manage and support people living with tinnitus is still relatively limited. With COVID having significantly affected access to non-urgent care, we’re delighted that Treble Health can offer our users instant access to specialists at the forefront of tinnitus care.”
