Updated: UK guidance on audiology practice during Covid-19
Covering England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, the new joint document replaces the April 9 document with information aimed at greater clarity and a more detailed review of risks and infection control procedures. Adding otology guidance to its scope, the 24-page online flipbook places its emphasis on "how to deliver care safely and as clinically required rather than referring to essential and urgent care".
The updating of the document—with the next revision due on May 31—keeps apace with official guidance from not only government and public health sources but also from vulnerable and extremely vulnerable groups, and links are provided to all these for providers of audiological services to keep up with – and they are urged to do so diligently.
The four bodies behind this unified guidance are the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP), the British Academy of Audiology (BAA), the British Society of Audiology (BSA), and the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA)
