Sonova Germany: change in management team
The new Managing Director will be Martin Heierle.
For over three years, Dr. Baumann held this position in the company. He is now returning to his home country, Switzerland, to take on a new challenge as CEO of a broad-based, international, medium-sized manufacturing company, and to be closer to his family.
“I am inspired by the level of passion and intensive dialog our driven and competent staff continually have in their work with our clients, to achieve our joint success,” said Roger Baumann. “The enthusiasm and commitment of everyone in the German hearing aids sector have impressed me time and again. I would like to warmly thank our clients, staff members and colleagues for this and for the confidence they have shown me.”
Baumann’s successor, Martin Heierle, worked in Switzerland as area and product manager for the local Phonak sales organization before holding various management positions in global sales with Sonova. He was also responsible for global key account management at Sonova Group to support local sales companies and established international marketing initiatives in the key markets. He has over 13 years of experience in the sector. “His competence and personality make him uniquely qualified for his new role,” indicates the Sonova newsletter.
Martin Heierle’s sphere of accountability covers the overall responsibility for Sonova Deutschland GmbH and the Phonak business unit. Jochen Meuser remains General Manager of the Unitron business unit. And lastly, Joachim Schönhofen will continue to be responsible for finance for both brands, as Business Director. Like before, the Fellbach-based Phonak und Unitron business units will act separately in the areas of sales, audiology and marketing.
